Youth
What’s Happening for Youth and Teenagers
Sundays:
Here at Winvin we have a lively bunch of youth who generally split into 2 age groups on a Sunday; 11 -14 is D:VINE, and 15 - 17 is VOYC. Both groups meet upstairs after worship in the main service to give both the youth and the leaders a chance to enter into God’s presence through worship. We also run a Friday Club most weeks here at the Centre in the Winvin Youth Café and chill-out area from 7 - 9pm. If you are an actual youth or a parent of one and would like to find out more about provision for the youth at Winvin please talk to Dom and Nicole, or Nigel and Jo, who will be happy to give you the low-down.
We also have a great team who help to lead and facilitate these groups for the youth and we have a clear and passionate vision of what we feel God wants to do with us and the youth. We believe that God wants us all to grow closer to him through intimacy, purer on the inside through healing and wholeness, and stronger and more equipped to reach out to those who need a real encounter with Jesus. We believe that God is good, and that he is with us in our upward, inward and outward journeys!
D:VINE
11 - 14 (Years 7, 8 and 9)
Meets upstairs in the Youth Café at 11am after worship in the main service. D:VINE get together to explore the vastness of who God is and what he has planned for us in creative and dynamic ways. God loves teenagers and so do we, and we know that Jesus speaks to young people, equips them for life and Godliness, and fills them with his Holy Spirit. D:VINE leaders and facilitators seek to somehow harness the raw energy that is a teenage wonder, distil it and put it into a packet, and then direct it higher, deeper and further with God!
VOYC
15 - 18 (Years 10 upwards)
Meets as "The Youth Cell" - a small group in a house in Harestock at 7pm every other week - please do contact our leaders - Graham & Lyn Matthews who say "The Youth Cell on Sunday nights is the place for 14-18 year olds to get setup for the week ahead. If you're looking to get support from other christians your age, be challenged through discussing and leading or to just eat good cake, then you're welcome to join us!"
Youth Club on Fridays
This is definitely a place to be on a Friday from 7 - 9pm! If you are 11 to 18, like kicking back and having fun, and want to spend some time in God’s presence in a relaxed and social setting, then you’ve got to be here. There will be a team of friendly adults who can do amazing things like cook chocolatey things and play Nintendo Wii. We have had in the past and plan to have again in the future video evenings, trips out to fun places, and journalling and creative writing sessions. Also to come - art, talking, tuck shop, music, listening, art, music, repetition and much, much more! Youth Club is an accessible place and space that youth at Winvin can bring their friends to socialise and enjoy whatever is going on.
